The Croucher Summer Course on Performance-Aware Programming using
Application Accelerators (PAPAA) is a 5-day live-in summer program
hosted at the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. The goal of the
course is to bring together the best researchers and the brightest young
postgraduate research students in a weeklong intensive course where
participants may exchange ideas and experiences in utilizing
state-of-the-art acceleration technologies across different application
domains.
What you'll study
During the week, experts from around the world will be delivering
lectures and hands-on exercises on cutting-edge acceleration
technologies using FPGAs, GPUs and more. Through these exercises,
students get to experience first hand the potential of using application
accelerators in their research. Students also get a chance to showcase
their latest research, and discuss their need for high-performance
computers through poster sessions.
The course’s target audiences are PhD or master students in their first 2
years of study, as well as very advanced undergraduate students in
their final year. Enrollment will be on a competitive basis.
This course is limited to 30 students and will be conducted in English.
Applications must be received by 15 May 2014 and participants will be
notified by 31 May.
