Zichen Liu (刘子辰)
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Zichen is an MPhil student in Molecular Biology at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, specializing in high-throughput sequencing technologies and their applications in RNA epigenetics. His research focuses on pseudouridine (Ψ) sequencing, a pivotal method for profiling RNA modifications. He investigates its biochemical mechanisms, computational analysis pipelines, and implications for gene regulation. In addition to his wet-lab work, Zichen engages in computational tasks, such as protein-protein interaction simulations. This interdisciplinary approach aligns with his aspiration to advance precision medicine by linking RNA modification dynamics to disease mechanisms. Previously, during the first year of his MPhil, he conducted studies on NGS library preparation, which solidified his technical foundation.
