Yukinori Hirano received his bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees from Nagoya University in Japan in 2008. He spent a significant portion of his PhD research at New Jersey Medical School (now Rutgers University), focusing on genome integrity. He then adopted molecular biology techniques to study chromatin regulation in memory. In 2020, Yukinori joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he began researching transcriptional regulation in neural networks related to memory. He also investigates aging, particularly the individuality in aging. His ultimate goal is to uncover the mechanisms that create behavioral diversity, which impacts various aspects of life.
