Yucan Chen
Yucan Chen is a fourth-year PhD student with a research background in biomaterials, specifically inducing the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into articular cartilage using PEGDA. Driven by an interest in the regulatory factors that control MSC fate, she studied systems biology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where her research focused on the association between SETD2-mediated H3K36me3 and microRNAs, uncovering potential cross-talk between the two. Currently, at the University of Hong Kong for her PhD, Yucan is investigating the mutagenesis potential of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) on the host genome. Her work has revealed the redistribution of somatic mutations in EBV-associated cancers, and she aims to elucidate the underlying mechanisms through experimental studies.
