Xumeng is currently a research assistant professor at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where she focuses on retrotransposons and their epigenetic regulation in diseases. She obtained her PhD in Life Science from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2021, after which she pursued postdoctoral training at SUSTech. During this time, Xumeng concentrated on the function of retrotransposons and their epigenetic regulation in embryonic development and diseases. Her research has been published in prestigious journals, including Nature Communications, Nature Cell Biology, and Cell Proliferation. In her current role, she is involved in projects studying retrotransposons in the context of diabetes and cancer.
