Xueyan Sun (孙雪妍)
Tsinghua University
Xueyan is a fourth-year doctoral student at Tsinghua University's School of Life Sciences. Her research integrates bioinformatics with molecular biology to investigate transposable elements (TEs) and their epigenetic regulation. She primarily focuses on the regulation of LINE-1 antisense transcription, the functions of non-coding RNAs in development and disease, and the mechanisms of RNA damage and repair.Utilizing high-throughput sequencing technologies and computational models, Xueyan explores how transposable elements influence gene regulatory networks and contribute to disease pathogenesis. Through her multidisciplinary approach, which bridges computational genomics, epigenetics, and RNA biology, she aims to decode fundamental principles of genome plasticity and develop novel diagnostic frameworks for genetic disorders.
