Xiaoyu Zhan (詹小瑜)

Xiaoyu is a second-year PhD student in Professor Cheng Sze Lok Alfred's lab at the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). She began her academic journey at BGI in 2015, earning her bachelor's degree from Jinan University in 2016 and her master's degree from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019. Xiaoyu continued her research at BGI until 2023, during which her work has been published in prestigious international journals such as Nature Ecology and Evolution, Genome Research, and Cell Reports. Her current research focuses on deciphering the expression landscape of transposable elements at the single-cell level in hepatocellular carcinoma, particularly in the context of anti-PD-1 treatment. Her goal is to enhance the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapy through this investigation.
