Wenxin Wang (王文鑫)
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Wenxin earned his BSc in Biotechnology from the Southern University of Science and Technology in 2024. Currently, he is a first-year MPhil student in the Leung Lab at HKUST. With foundational training in 3D genomics wet lab techniques during his undergraduate studies, Wenxin's research focuses on the 3D genomic mechanisms driving cancer development, with a particular interest in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).
His current work involves data mining in the NPC cell line C666-1 to develop hypotheses on how Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) infection reshapes the epigenetic landscape of normal cells. Additionally, Wenxin is interested in exploring the role of retrotransposons, an underexplored topic in NPC research, to gain better understanding of the NPC onset and potentially inspire treatment to the disease.
