Vrinda Mathur
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Vrinda is a PhD candidate in Life Sciences at HKUST, specializing in genetics with a focus on the epigenetic regulation of transcription and retrotransposon dynamics. Her research centers on human placenta development and disease, utilizing single-cell multiomics and advanced epigenetic techniques. Vrinda aims to integrate computational analysis with wet lab experiments to investigate how epigenetic mechanisms influence gene expression and retrotransposon activity in placental biology. Her work contributes to a deeper understanding of the complex regulation underlying developmental processes and related disorders. By bridging molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics, Vrinda seeks to advance the field and plans to conduct translational studies that connect fundamental discoveries with clinical applications to improve the diagnosis and treatment of placental disorders.
