Tong Yin
University of Hong Kong
Tong Yin completed his PhD studies at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), focusing on developing bioinformatics methods to uncover dynamic changes in the epigenome during cancer initiation and development. After graduation, he began her postdoctoral research at HKUMed, where he combined large-scale multi-omics data with clinical information. Using self-developed algorithms, she studied unique cell lineages and tumor cell phenotypes in gastric cancer, aiming to discover novel biomarkers to facilitate early cancer diagnosis and identify potential drug targets. Currently, Tong works as a research scientist at HKU COI, where he is responsible for data management and big data mining of large-scale cancer patient and organoid datasets. He utilizes AI models to decipher spatial transcriptomics and aid in drug discovery.
