I graduated from The University of Toronto with a Bachelor degree on molecular genetics. I will be starting my PhD in the coming September 2025. I am currently working in Professor Jason Wong's lab. One of our research focus is about cancer genomics and some of my colleagues has been researching about retrotransposons in the human genome. Although I have not heard a lot about retrotransposons, they make up a significant portion of the human genome and have been shown to affect gene regulations and also potentially play a role in cancer progression. It would be a great opportunity to participate in this symposium to learn more about retrotransposons from experts around the world.
