Stephen Li is a molecular biologist and bioinformatician currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Hong Kong. His journey combines wet-lab experimentation with computational science, driven by a deep curiosity about cryptic translation, alternative splicing, and post-transcriptional regulation. He has developed machine learning models for cancer metastasis prediction, discovered non-canonical neoantigens for immunotherapy, and contributed to multiple peer-reviewed studies across genomics, proteomics, and epigenetics. Stephen's academic path included time at Oxford and Warwick, culminating in a PhD funded by the Medical Research Council. Beyond research, he is committed to teaching, mentoring, and organising workshops that empower others in bioinformatics. He believes in the power of interdisciplinary science to uncover hidden biological insights and is always eager to push those boundaries further.
