Sojung Lee
University of Hong Kong
Sojung is a PhD student at The University of Hong Kong, where she studies under the supervision of Professor Jason Wong. She completed her undergraduate studies in bioengineering at the University of Science and Technology and is expected to graduate in August this year. Her research focuses on computational biology, particularly in cancer genomics, with her thesis centered on transposable elements. Sojung emphasizes the development of computational tools to study the activation, expression, and potential impacts of these elements in cancer settings. Her work also explores the regulatory mechanisms of transposable elements, contributing to a deeper understanding of their roles in cancer biology. Through her research, she aims to uncover insights that could inform the development of novel diagnostic or therapeutic strategies. Driven by her passion for computational biology, Sojung combines bioinformatics and genomics to tackle complex biological questions.
