Minxuan He is a first-year MPhil student in Professor Ting Xie's lab at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His studies focus on using transcriptomic and epigenetic analyses to uncover the mechanisms of human early development and aging in various organs, including the kidney and central nervous system (retina, cerebellum, spinal cord, etc.). He has a strong interest in retrotransposons, as they play a role in early development of human beings and are significant factors in aging. Minxuan hopes to gain advanced knowledge of transposable elements, both biologically and bioinformatically, to better design and conduct his own research projects.
