Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Lihua Huang graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2023 and has worked as a bioinformatician for over 10 years, focusing on large high-dimensional datasets from biological sequencing and clinical data. She is passionate about gaining insights from data through proper interpretation. During her PhD, she worked on a research topic related to dementia, integrating DNA methylation and genomic data with clinical data to identify biomarkers for cognitive impairment years before disease onset, based on a longitudinal prospective study design. Lihua is particularly interested in epigenomics, transcriptomics, and genomics, as well as their potential applications in disorders, and she is eager to learn more about the frontier of retrotransposons.
