Le Yang (杨乐)
Tsinghua university
Le is a fourth-year PhD student at Tsinghua University’s School of Life Sciences, working under the guidance of Associate Professor Nian Liu. His research focuses on deciphering the functional roles and metabolic pathways of LINE-1 (L1) retrotransposon RNA in human cells. Le employs a variety of techniques, including CRISPR screening, high-throughput sequencing (RNA-seq/RIP-seq), mass spectrometry, immunofluorescence imaging, and biochemical/cellular assays, to systematically characterise L1 RNA’s interactions with host factors and its impact on genomic regulation. Prior to his studies at Tsinghua, he earned his BSc in Biology from Huazhong Agricultural University from 2017 to 2021, where he developed a strong foundation in molecular genetics, equipping him with the skills to master advanced genomic tools for his research on L1 RNA.
