Jayne Barbour
InnoHK
Jayne is a postdoctoral researcher in professor Jason WH Wong’s lab at the University of Hong Kong, specialising in cancer genomics and epigenetics. Her research focuses on somatic mutagenesis and the expression of transposable elements in cancer, with particular emphasis on non-canonical nucleotide modifications and DNA repair mechanisms. Jayne employs both bioinformatics and wet lab approaches to address these complex questions. She holds a PhD in mitochondrial biology from UNSW Sydney, Australia, which has cultivated her strong interest in the intersection of cellular metabolism and cancer genomics. This background shapes her current research on the metabolic influences on genome stability in cancer.
