Haoran Hu is a bioinformatician in the Department of Pathology at the University of Hong Kong. His primary focus is on mining public databases and analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. He develops and implements downstream analysis pipelines to interpret complex sequencing files, facilitating the extraction of meaningful insights from large datasets. His research centers on understanding tumor development through epigenetics, exploring how epigenetic modifications influence cancer progression. By integrating computational methods with biological research, Haoran aims to contribute to advancements in cancer biology and improve diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. He is looking forward to advance his knowledge on the subject of retrotransposons through the exchange with fellow scientists at the course.
