Geena Wai (惠聖芯)

Geena is a graduate student that joined the Department of Life Sciences at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Columbia in 2019. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and cell biology from HKUST. Geena is currently working in Professor Danny Leung’s lab, where her primary research focuses on profiling the epigenetic and transcriptomic changes that occur after single (mTBI1x) and repetitive (mTBI2x) mild traumatic brain injury during the subacute phase of injury. Her academic interests include epigenetics, neuroscience, and retrotransposons regarding their role in gene regulation in neurodegenerative diseases. Geena looks forward to engaging in discussions with the scientific community.
