Andrew Hutchins

Andrew Hutchins is a combined experimental and computational biologist interested in embryonic development and complex human diseases. Originally from the United Kingdom, where he earned his PhD from University of Anglia in 2004, Andrew has been in Asia for nearly two decades. He was in Singapore from 2004 to 2010, then moved to Osaka in Japan, where he studied the immune system from 2010 to 2013. He came to China in 2013, initially joining Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH), before taking up a faculty position at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in 2016. To date, he has published 85 manuscripts, including leading studies in Nature Cell Biology, Cell Stem Cell, Nature Communications, and PLOS Biology.
