Valerie Chiang is a resident trainee in the Division of Clinical Immunology, Department of Pathology at Queen Mary Hospital. As an immunopathologist, she takes a bench-to-bedside approach to disease diagnosis and management, with a special interest in adult-onset immunodeficiencies, such as Good's syndrome and acquired cytokine autoantibodies. She specialises in applying laboratory methods to monitor the functional status of autoantibodies, particularly via pSTAT1 neutralisation assays. Additionally, she contributes to genetic diagnostics - utilising next-generation sequencing (NGS) for whole exome sequencing (WES) and gene panels - as well as genetic counselling for patients presenting with suspected immunodeficiencies.
