Flora Zhao (赵梦颖)
University of Hong Kong
I am a second-year PhD student in Pengtao Liu's lab at the School of Biomedical Sciences, HKU. During my undergrad, I double majored in chemistry and biochemistry and cell biology, and developed a strong interest in translational immunology. My research mainly focuses on the generation of T-to-Natural-Killer (ITNK) cells using human expanded potential stem cells (hEPSCs) for adoptive cell therapy in cancer treatment. ITNK possesses both T and NK features such as a broad killing spectrum, strong killing capacity, and robust proliferation, which make it promising for a novel cell source for cell therapy against cancer. I am eager to learn more cutting-edge knowledge in translational immunology and meet people passionate about this field. The summer course will be a valuable chance for me to be involved in this fast-growing field.
