Chunzhen Yang
Senior Engineer, Institute of Advanced Science Facilities, Shenzhen
Chunzhen Yang is interested in developing operando/in situ X-ray characterisation devices and instruments for batteries and electrocatalysis. He completed his PhD in chemistry from the University of Hong Kong. After two years of postdoctoral research in RIKEN, Japan, he moved to the College de France in Paris, exploring the anionic redox in water splitting reactions. In 2018, he joined Sun Yat-sen University as an associate professor in the School of Materials.

He is currently also serving as a senior engineer and group leader in the Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SRF) Management Division, Institute of Advanced Science Facilities (IASF), Shenzhen. His group designed three hard X-ray spectroscopy beamlines in the proposed Shenzhen Industry Synchrotron Light Source. He is also responsible for the design and construction of the micro-focused X-ray fluorescence (μ-XRF) system and the multi-environment reaction system in the “laboratory-based hard X-ray diffraction and scattering testing platform.”
