Fang Liu's previous research focused on biomechanics, with her graduate thesis investigating the correlation between lower limb postural control and proprioception, plantar sensation and muscle strength in older adults. She is currently a PhD student at Loughborough University, England, where her main research interests include the design and manufacturing of digital prosthetic sockets, computer design, mechanical testing, and simulation.
