Alex Redhead
Loughborough University
I am a MEng Bioengineering student at Loughborough University, with a passion for sports, fitness and adventure. Growing up, involvement in Scouts and a variety of different sports from a young age (including badminton for which I currently represent the University) was key to making me the person I am today. When I first joined Loughborough in 2020 my aspiration was to work in the Paralympic technology field, helping athletes to maximise performance and achieve their full potential through the design of prosthetic devices and sports equipment. However, through my years of study I have realised that my real interest lies beyond engineering and instead, simply in helping others, whether that involves the treatment of neurological diseases, maintaining and improving the physical performance of the body or the design of innovative paralympic equipment.
