Alex, after a 30-year career in US IT companies, has transitioned to academia and is pursuing a Master of Medical Sciences at HKU. He plans to pursue a PhD specialising in mRNA/siRNA/DNA-based gene therapies, immune-cell therapies, and vaccines for cancers and genetic disorders. Inspired by advancements in gene therapies and xenotransplantation, Alex is eager to deepen his knowledge of CRISPR technology. His ultimate goal is to achieve breakthroughs in gene-based therapies, translating them into patents, clinical treatments, and startup ventures to benefit both human health and the economy of Hong Kong and China.
