Nattawat is a third-year PhD student at the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), Thailand, supervised by Dr Chayasith Uttamapinant. His research focuses on developing biosensing strategies to visualise cellular dynamics, particularly the response of localised protein translation to cellular stress. While his work does not directly involve genome editing, his lab applies CRISPR-based approaches for molecular diagnostics. With coursework in genome editing and molecular engineering, Nattawat is eager to strengthen his expertise in genome engineering, a field with limited opportunities in Thailand, to advance his academic and research career.
