Dr Martin Herbordt
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Boston University
Professor Herbordt's research in high performance computing and computer architecture focuses on accelerating difficult computations that are generally not optimally served solely with standard CPUs. The applications of interest are currently in bioinformatics, computational biology and computational electrodynamics and include molecular docking, sequence alignment and analysis, molecular dynamics, and discrete molecular dynamics. The methods have concentrated on the use of accelerators such as GPUs and FPGAs.
