Yongwoo Son

Yongwoo is a veterinarian and master’s student in the Wildlife/One Health Lab at Konkuk University. He earned his DVM from Gyeongsang National University in 2025. His research focuses on the molecular epidemiology and phylodynamics of avian influenza virus (AIV) and avian gammacoronavirus (IBV), particularly their transmission dynamics between wildlife and domestic poultry. Yongwoo is skilled in next-generation sequencing, phylogenetic analysis, and vaccine design using immunoinformatics. He has participated in nationwide avian influenza surveillance programmes and aims to deepen his understanding of disease ecology and emerging viral infections through international collaboration.
