Westlake University
Jiayao is a doctoral candidate in the Fudan University-Westlake University Joint Program, specialising in combating emerging viral threats. Graduating with first-class honours from Hong Kong Baptist University during the COVID-19 pandemic shaped her focus on viral pathogenesis and intervention strategies. Her research centres on isolating broadly neutralising antibodies against evolving viruses, studying conserved epitopes, and identifying host cell receptors mediating viral entry. Jiayao aims to develop dual therapeutic approaches targeting both viral particles and host pathways, contributing to pandemic preparedness through innovative virology solutions.
