Yingcheng Li is a theorist studying topological phases of matter. Recently, Yingcheng is interested in understanding the emergent phenomena, including anyonic properties, symmetry properties, and symmetry anomalies, in topological phases from a microscopic point of view, instead of merely understanding them from a mathematical view. He is also interested in the potential methods that will be useful to microscopically understand the emergent phenomena, including quantum information techniques and the operator algebra.
