Hanyu Xue (薛寒玉)
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Hanyu Xue earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Peking University. Currently, he is a first-year graduate student at MIT and is working in condensed matter theory. Hanyu is interested in homotopy theory, combinatorial topology, and topological phase of matter. His best work is Statistics of Abelian Topological Excitations, arxiv: 2412.07653; it establishes a novel and completely rigorous framework to define and compute statistics, only based on two axioms about Hilbert spaces, states, and operators.
