Joseph Miano is J Harold Harrison MD Distinguished University Chair in Vascular Biology, Vascular Biology Center and a professor of medicine at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. His research interest mainly focuses on the discovery and function of noncoding genes (LncRNAs) and smooth muscle cell enhancers. He specialises in genome editing in mice to model disease and ascertain function of genes and noncoding sequences.
