Associate Professor Sharma's translational research focuses on learning how to apply immune-based therapeutic strategies to manipulate components of the human immune system to lead to tumor regression. She designs and conducts clinical trials of cancer vaccines and other immune-based treatments. She also conducts laboratory research on collected patient samples as part of her ongoing studies aimed at understanding how immunotherapy affects the immune system and tumor biology.
