Advancing neutron research to characterise structures of materials.
Neutron scattering is a powerful and versatile method to characterise the structure and dynamics of materials.
Neutron scattering is a versatile technique for exploring the structure and dynamics of materials. This proposal aimed to advance the Joint CAS-Croucher Laboratory, fostering collaboration between Hong Kong and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in neutron scattering. Following the success of previous initiatives, the focus is now on transforming the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS), which produced its first neutron beam on August 28th 2017, from blueprint to the most productive science facility of its kind. The project will conduct pioneering experiments to highlight CSNS's scientific potential, collaborate on designing an innovative scattering instrument, and lay the groundwork for establishing a State Key Lab in Hong Kong.
