Toward a New Generation of Dynamic Network Models

The main goal of this ASI is to look beyond the traditional equilibrium analysis and explore a new approach toward modeling dynamic networks, which will open up theoretically interesting, yet practically important directions for modeling and managing dynamic transportation networks.
This meeting hopes to develop a deeper understanding of the dynamical system approach for modeling transportation systems: what we already know and what the research questions are in order to move this approach forward; To explore possible contexts where the dynamical system approach will play an important role, such as modeling disruptive networks, dynamic management strategies under emergent learning processes and non-steady conditions, etc.; to establish a global collaborative network of dynamic network scientists to share experience, methods, and data, and to train a new generation of transport scientists.
