Patrick Casey is a globally recognised leader in cell signalling and cancer biology. He currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Dean’s Office and Professor in the Cancer & Stem Cell Biology Programme at Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore, and holds the title of James B. Duke Professor of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology at Duke University, USA. As a founding architect of Duke-NUS, he was instrumental in establishing the School’s Office of Research and assembling a world-class scientific team across its five Signature Research Programmes. His strategic leadership helped transform Duke-NUS into a globally respected research powerhouse, while his efforts in building an inclusive and collaborative culture have had a lasting impact. Throughout his distinguished career, Professor Casey has received numerous prestigious accolades, including the Established Investigator Award from the American Heart Association, the Amgen Award from the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and election as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was also honoured with the Duke University Distinguished Faculty Award and Singapore’s National Day Award for his exceptional contributions to biomedical research, education, and institutional development.
