Chi Yudan, National Outstanding Young Talent, is a faculty member at the Institute for Translational Brain Research and the Research Institute of Huashan Hospital, where she serves as a Ph.D. supervisor. Her research primarily focuses on central nervous system (CNS) tumors and inflammation, with particular interest in the dynamics of the pathological microenvironment, CNS drug delivery, and targeted therapies. Chi earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Shanghai Pasteur Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2016. From 2017 to 2020, she conducted postdoctoral research on malignant CNS metastases at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the United States. To date, she has published research articles in prestigious journals such as Science, Exploration, and Molecular Therapy–Nucleic Acids, with over 300 citations. She holds one domestic patent and two international patents. One of her key projects, which involves the use of the iron chelator DFO for the treatment of leptomeningeal metastases, has progressed to clinical trials.
