Titus Brinker is a specialist in dermatology, entrepreneur, and leading researcher in artificial intelligence applications in medicine. He heads a 20-member research group at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ), focusing on AI-supported skin cancer diagnostics and the development of medically grounded digital applications used across various industries. Brinker studied medicine and earned his doctorate in Giessen and Frankfurt, later beginning his clinical career at the University Dermatological Clinic in Essen before joining the DKFZ in 2017. He is also the founder of the multinational initiative Education Against Tobacco (EAT), aimed at youth smoking prevention. His pioneering work has earned him numerous honours, including the Young Research Award (2018), the Dermatology Innovation Award (2019), and the Vision Zero Award (2023). In the same year, he completed his habilitation at the University of Heidelberg on the topic of artificial intelligence. Brinker’s career bridges clinical dermatology, digital health innovation, and impactful public health advocacy.
