Shiyou Wei (韦诗友)

Shiyou Wei currently serves as a Thoracic Surgeon at West China Hospital, Sichuan University, where he has built his academic foundation. He earned his PhD from West China Hospital in 2021 and subsequently completed a postdoctoral research fellowship there in 2025. To broaden his academic horizons, he spent a significant period as a visiting scholar at Duke University during 2020 and 2021. His primary research focuses on critical challenges in thoracic oncology, particularly investigating the complex mechanisms underlying lung cancer brain metastasis, a major cause of morbidity and mortality. He also explores treatment response and resistance mechanisms related to novel targeted therapies and immunotherapies, aiming to understand why treatments succeed or fail in individual patients. In addition, Wei actively engages in cancer genomics research to identify molecular drivers and vulnerabilities.
