Shiyou Wei (韦诗友)
West China Hospital, Sichuan University
I currently serve as a Thoracic Surgeon at West China Hospital, Sichuan University. My academic foundation was established entirely within this prestigious environment; I earned my PhD from West China Hospital in 2021 and subsequently completed my postdoctoral research fellowship here in 2025. To further broaden my academic horizons, I spent a significant period as a Visiting Scholar at Duke University during 2020 and 2021. My primary research endeavors are deeply focused on critical challenges in thoracic oncology. Specifically, I investigate the complex mechanisms underlying lung cancer brain metastasis, a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Furthermore, I explored the mechanisms of treatment response and resistance, particularly concerning novel targeted therapies and immunotherapies, aiming to understand why treatments succeed or fail in individual patients. Complementing this, I actively engage in cancer genomics research to identify molecular drivers and vulnerabilities
