Metals in biology and medicine: from molecular image to drug resistance

This course aims to disseminate the cutting-edge research about metals in biology and medicine to Hong Kong.
The exploration of metals in biology and medicine is a fast-growing research area. Over the past decades, copper, iron and zinc have attracted enormous attentions due to their involvement in aging and neuro-science. Due to the complex of biological system, multi-techniquse and multi-omics approach are used to detect the existence of metals in vivo to understand metal homeostasis and metals in (patho)physiological process. This metals in biology and medicine workshop focuses on molecular imaging and biosensing, metals in medicine, and antibiotics and drug resistance.
