I come from a relatively unique background - having an undergraduate degree in Physics and a PhD in Oncology at the University of Cambridge. My work - bridging cancer genomics, evolutionary biology and mathematics with single cell experiments - has advanced understanding in the somatic evolution of normal and precancerous human tissues. I look forward to making impactful discoveries that advance the field of cancer biology by providing true scientific understanding of its evolution through combining computational biology, mathematics and cancer multi-omics here at HKU. I will be applying my quantitative biologist's expertise HCC tumours to study the phenotypic plasticity of HCC tumours using human samples.
