Xiaohong Zhou's research focuses on exploring the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Utilizing R and shell scripting, she has a background in array data quality control, marker identification, and constructing risk prediction models. Currently, Xiaohong applies Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) and Methylome-Wide Association Studies (MWAS) to identify genetic and epigenetic markers associated with ESRD, aiming to pinpoint patients at high risk of rapid disease progression to inform healthcare strategies that delay the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
