Ricky Hui (許偉健)
University of Hong Kong
Ricky Hui's research focuses on developing a custom multimodal microscopy system that combines oblique plane microscopy (OPM) and oblique back-illumination microscopy (OBM) for in vivo leukemia analysis in zebrafish. Because existing methods require sacrificing zebrafish to evaluate leukemia status—limiting long-term drug response studies—Ricky's approach aims to non-invasively capture both fluorescent and label-free images of flowing peripheral blood cells in living zebrafish. Due to the lack of effective fluorescent markers specifically for zebrafish leukemia cells, he is currently engineering a software system designed to track and extract morphological features from these label-free images of flowing blood cells.
