Now I am studying Neual degeneration diseases with induced neural stem cells, we try to model NDDs using our iNSCs obtained by neural lineage reprogramming methods, we think iNSCs are better than iPSC as iNSCs might retain partial aging features rather than fully reset to an ESC-like naive state. I am studying amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ALS, which is a rare and lethal disease that degenerates upper and lower motor neurons. The average onset age of ALS is around 55 years old, we think aging plays an essential role in ALS, and we commit to capturing ALS pathology using our iNSC-derived motor neurons that iPSC cannot.
