Keith Leung is a Research Officer in the School of Biomedical Sciences at University of Hong Kong (HKU), working under Professor Kathryn Cheah. His research focuses on gene function and regulation during key developmental processes, specifically within cartilage, bone, and inner ear development (including hair cell specification). Keith is currently investigating potential enhancer elements of SPRY4 for gut development, identified through genome-wide association studies (GWAS) on patients with Hirschsprung's disease. He has extensive expertise in generating mouse models of human diseases using gene knockout, transgenic techniques, and CRISPR-Cas9 technology to elucidate disease mechanisms and molecular pathogenesis.
