My research interest is developing therapeutic approaches to slow down aging and improve human health. During my PhD study, I worked on the molecular regulation of adult stem cell quiescence. We use muscle stem cells as the model which are vital for muscle regeneration. We investigate how muscle stem cell quiescence is maintained and whether these mechanisms are disrupted during aging. After graduation, I work as a post-doctoral fellow in HKCEND and try to develop therapeutic approaches for multiple aging-related diseases. Cellular senescence and mitochondria dysfunction are two of the major features of aging, so we are now focusing on identifying drugs to reverse senescence and boost mitochondria function.
