Anna Yu (余晓丹)

Anna pursued her Ph.D. research at the Division of Life Science, HKUST from 2016 to 2020. Now she is a postdoctoral fellow in Kathy Cheah’s lab at HKU, focusing on developmental biology, bioinformatics, and the genetic and molecular basis of skeletal disorders. Her postdoc research involves investigating the role of specific genes, MMP14 and Col10a1, in Hypertrophic chondrocyte lineage and disease states related to the skeletal system, using cutting-edge techniques in genomics, bioinformatics, and proteomics. Anna was honored with the First Place award for best oral presentation at the 1st HKU-CUHK Joint Postdoctoral Biomedical Sciences Symposium 2024. Additionally, Anna was granted an HMRF grant in 2022.
