Ágota Apáti MSc, PhD, is the head of the Pluripotent Stem Cell Laboratory at the Research Center for Natural Sciences, completed her PhD in 2003 at Semmelweis University School of Medicine. She has established the first pluripotent stem cell lab in Hungary in 2005. She has strong experience in human pluripotent stem cell generation and differentiation (especially in the direction of cardiac, neuronal, endothelial and mesenchymal cell types), in studying membrane transporters as well as calcium signaling. She has developed iPSC-based disease models and transgenic cellular reporter systems. Published more than 60 scientific papers, cited with an H-index of 20.
