Matthias Mauder
Chair Professor of Meteorology, Technische Universitat Dresden
Matthias Mauder received his doctorate in micrometeorology at the University of Bayreuth in 2006. As a post-doctoral researcher, he developed new methods for the analysis of airborne eddy-covariance measurements and multi-tower measurements at the Research Branch of the Department of Agriculture in Ottawa, Canada. Afterwards, he was a Helmholtz-Young Investigator group leader and headed the group on transport processes in the atmospheric boundary layer at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. In his current research, he and his team aim to combine different observational techniques with numerical modelling, including eddy-covariance, ground-based remote sensing by Doppler lidar, and large-eddy simulations. His goal is to improve our understanding of turbulent transport processes in the atmospheric boundary layer for studies on surface energy balance, water and carbon cycles, climate adaptation, and urban climate.
